Man and beast face off in Sumatra (World Page A8)

Q1) What is illegal logging?
Q2) What can you do to stop the Sumatran tiger from extinction?

Answers:
Q1)Illegal logging is the harvest, transportation, purchase or sale of timber in violation of national laws. The harvesting procedure itself may be illegal, including using corrupt means to gain access to forests; extraction without permission or from a protected area; the cutting of protected species; or the extraction of timber in excess of agreed limits
Q2)I can help stop the extinction of the Sumatran Tiger by not buying items made from the tiger like it's skin or it's teeth. But, I can not only do this for the tiger but also for the rhinoceros as it is hunted for it's horn. The government can also do his or her part but arresting the loggers or anyone who is is in part of any illegal activites.
